If you are in the New York City area, look out for our food service, Island Soul & Sweets BX.  We are a Bronx based food service that specializes in Caribbean cuisine, soul food, and delicious desserts.  I’ve been baking cakes for years and was able to monetize from creating beautifully decorated cakes for special occasions including birthdays and weddings.  We found some success with our food service last year, but could not invest our time in it because of our already busy schedules.  Since leaving my corporate job recently, I am now able to invest more time in doing what I love, making good food and putting smiles on people’s faces by filling their tummies.

Our top seller is our seafood combo which includes fried whiting and fried shrimp.  Our mac and cheese is loved by those who’ve tried it and our collard greens are always in high demand.  Our greens are slowly cooked in chicken stock, with chopped onions, and smoked pork neck bones. The smoked pork neck bones kick the flavor profile up a notch.

Don’t forget dessert!  Our triple chocolate cake is moist and irresistible!  It’s chocolate cake, with chocolate chips, frosted with chocolate frosting.  It is divine.

Raised in the Bronx; spending the majority of my days in the Midtown section of Manhattan, I have a fabulous addiction to life in New York City. I'm a lifestyle writer and social blogger. I enjoy traveling and photographing foods, landscapes, and people in their natural element. I also enjoy attending parades and street festivals in New York City; capturing the spirit and positive energy on video and in photographs.
