DUFF’S FAMOUS WINGS, AMHERST, NEW YORK

Duff’s, nestled in the bustling college town of Amherst, New York, is a hotspot for students and locals alike. In our quest for the ultimate buffalo wings, this place definitely made the cut. During our 7-hour road trip from New York City to Niagara Falls, New York, we made a quick stop at Duff’s for some of their iconic wings. And let me be straight with you, the journey was absolutely justified because the wings at Duff’s are totally worth every mile.

We opted for the original mild buffalo wings. They definitely hit the spot. Ideal for those with a sensitivity to heat, the crispy chicken wings were truly a delight. My only wish was that they sauced up the wings a bit more. Overall, the wings were great.

Now, onto the roast beef on weck – a quintessential Buffalo, New York creation. Starring roast beef on kummelweck, these rolls boast a sprinkling of caraway seeds and kosher salt. According to Duff’s, this sandwich is loved by locals, but I have to admit, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The French fries were yummy, and the service was ok.

Rain had a bacon cheeseburger with potato chips that she enjoyed. Omar had a Philly cheesesteak with French fries that he didn’t care for very much. We also tried the pizza log, which is mozzarella cheese and pepperonis stuffed in an egg roll wrapper, then deep-fried to a crisp and served with marinara sauce.

Their wings were the highlight of our visit. I recommend you visit Duff’s not only to try some delicious buffalo wings but also to experience a piece of New York history, as they are one of the first-known restaurants to create the iconic buffalo wing!
