Miss Metropolitan Junkie What's Hot in N.Y.C.

CAFE WHO, CAFE WHA?

Cafe Wha? dates back to the 1950s. I was advised to not even talk about it because it’s been around for so long.  Just about everyone has knowledge of this prehistoric hot spot.  However, considering the amount of tourists that visit New York City on a regular basis and the amount of people that relocate to New York City every single day, I figured Cafe Wha? would be new to many.

Cafe Wha? houses live bands and comedians.  It’s a cozy place that feels homely and fun.  There is no official dance floor, but patrons are welcomed to get down, and put some stank on it right near their seats.  A combination of rock, pop, hip hop, reggae, and r&b, there really isn’t a genre of popular music the bands don’t perform at this upbeat venue. During a time of auto-tunes and other voice enhancement technologies, it’s refreshing to hear live music from live musicians that actually have raw talent.

If you’re ever on Macdougal Street in Greenwich Village, Cafe Wha? is a funky little place you should absolutely visit.
