WHY YOU SHOULDN’T ORDER ROOM SERVICE ON YOUR NEXT CARNIVAL CRUISE

While the food isn't over-priced, save money by going upstairs to the 24 hour pizzeria or any food station open at the time.

img_8321Food is usually included in your cruise package.  While you’re on the ship, you won’t have to pay for certain meals.  Ordering room service, you are pretty much paying for the convenience of having food delivered to your stateroom on top of  gratuity included in the bill and depending on how generous you are, a separate tip given to the crew member who delivers the food to your room.  Prices for each room service item will range from $2 to $5. While the food isn’t over-priced, save money by going upstairs to the 24 hour pizzeria or any food station open at the time.

Room service food is subpar.  The dishes served via room service seem different from what is normally served at the food stations on the Lido deck.  The pizza from the pizzeria is significantly better than the pizza delivered by room service.  The pizza looks different and taste different.  The dishes I ordered via room service taste repurposed.  I was disappointed by the experience, and it’s highly unlikely that I will  order room service on a Carnival Cruise again.
