We visited Cave of The Winds on the American side of Niagara Falls. The experience was invigorating! Because of the season, however, we weren’t able to get too close to the falls where visitors often wear a light rain jacket to prevent being soaked by the mist. What we were able to experience, was great for the price we paid ($12PP – off season).

The rain like mist felt amazing on my skin. The temperature on the day of our visit was moderate – not too cold, but still not hot. It was off season, so a lot of attractions were either closed or open with significant limitations. I strongly suggest visiting Cave of The Winds during mid May to early September if you want to get the full experience.

This was my first time visiting the NY side of Niagara falls. I took my daughter to the Canadian side several years back. You can watch a video about our experience here. While the falls are beautiful on both sides, I love the Canadian side of Niagara more. I plan to go back for a sail on the Maid of the Mist. The attraction was closed during both of my visits because it was off season.
