A 4 STAR LUXURY RESORT WITH IMPECCABLE SERVICE ON THE ISLAND OF ANTIGUA

I was saddened that my husband didn't join me on this trip because my suite at Sugar Ridge was beautiful.  It was as though it was ripped out of a romance novel.

IMG_3133As soon as I stepped on the resort’s property, I was warmly greeted by staff with a cold towel and a refreshing cocktail.  Sugar Ridge Resort on the island of Antigua is a 4 star luxury resort.  It is not a beachfront property, but they do offer free shuttle service to nearby Turner Beach and Valley Church Beach where hotel staff awaits to answer to your every beck and call.  Situated on Valley Church Beach  is a beach bar and restaurant called The Nest. The Nest serves the best stew conch with peas and rice.  The Nest is one of my favorite places to chill when on the island.

This was my first solo trip in years, and I was saddened that my husband didn’t join me on this trip because my suite at Sugar Ridge was beautiful.  It was as though it was ripped out of a romance novel.  Everything from the bedding to the balcony spoke romance.  With views of the Caribbean Sea from my balcony’s private plunge pool, I was truly in paradise.

The resort has three pools, one of them being an infinity pool that sits at the highest point of the resort.  They also have Carmichael’s Restaurant and Sugar Club Bar and Lounge.  I enjoyed food and live music at Sugar Club.  It was one of my favorite places to be on the property besides my balcony’s plunge pool.  Sugar Ridge also boasts the only Aveda Concept Spa in the Caribbean.

The resort hosts plenty of activities so if you are planning on traveling for more than just relaxation, you will have an eventful time on and off the property.  Take an early morning hike up Mount Obama, the highest point on the island, or dip your toes in the blue waters at Turner Beach. The hotel staff takes great pride in making guests feel at home.  It was an experience I will never forget.
