Even though New York City is synonymous with wealth and opulence, most visitors are trying to score the best rates for hotels in popular areas like Times Square, Central Park, and the Financial District. It can be hard to snag a good deal when visiting the City that never sleeps. The average New York City visitor will likely want to skip past this list because it is not budget friendly (unless you have a really big budget). The list does, however, give an inside look at 20 of the most luxurious and expensive hotels in New York — and how much it costs to stay there.
One of my favorite properties on the list is the Baccarat Hotel. While it is a new property, it stands up firmly against known, historical and highly respected hotels on the list like the Ritz Carlton, Central Park and the St. Regis.
