QUICK WAYS TO TURN YOUR PLACE INTO A PALACE

If you live in New York, you know that rent is high and apartment space is minimal. Make the most of what you have by turning your place into a palace. These quick tips will surely make you feel like royalty.

PAINT
When dark colors congregate with dramatic lighting and soft upholstery, dark colors can turn a closed space into an warm, open room.

LIGHTING
There are three categories of lighting: General, Task, and Accent and Ambient. combing all these types of lighting will significantly add style.

General lighting such as ceiling fixtures and floor lamps provide general light to the room for visual assistance.

Task lighting, like a table lamp, is used to create activity spaces. For instance, placing a table lamp on an end table can create a reading space.

Ambient and accent lighting, including wall sconces, can soften the mood and brighten dark corners.

MIRRORS
Double the size of a room or bring more light to a dark corner or hallway by hanging a beautifully framed mirror.

FURNITURE
