A cute bar and lounge area on the lower level with a restaurant on the upper level, Nirvana is a Midtown treasure. Beyond the days of Chill Lounge, which was an after work hotspot every Friday nights on Lexington Avenue. It is extremely refreshing to find a place like Nirvana where I can sip Friday night cocktails with Midtown Easterners.
Enjoy naan and aloo paratha. Nirvana offers delicious Indian dishes with flavorful, complex elements that contain combinations from yogurt and curry to mint and cilantro. I enjoyed the Lamb Potato Croquette, which is seasoned ground lamb stuffed potato cakes. I also had the Chicken Tikka, which is chicken breast in a mild spiced yogurt marinade. Engage your palette in foods of South Asia. Take pleasure in a plate of Peas Pulao – basmati rice with fresh peas. Revel in a cucumber flavored mojito that is cool and light. You don’t have to travel to the Eastern part of the world for good food. Simply head to the East side of Midtown and taste the world.
