Sylvain Valade was vacationing with his daughter on the island of St. Martin when someone approached them to rob them while they were walking near the the Drift Wood Beach Bar on Beacon Hill at around 11PM on June 5th, 2019. Valade briefly struggled with the robber before he was shot. Valade was stabilized at a St. Martin hospital before he was moved to a Florida hospital two days later where he succumb to his injuries.
