TRUNK BAY BEACH – ST. JOHN USVI

With its powdery white sand, crystal clear waters, and views of surrounding islands in the distance, Trunk Bay is a must visit beach if you are on the island of St. John.

Trunk Bay Beach

We took a car barge to St. John, USVI from St. Thomas. It took forever to board the barge, but the ride to St. John was scenic and short. You are able to get out of your car once on the barge. You can stretch, walk around, go upstairs for beverages and take in exceptional views or you can just stay put in your car and enjoy the ride.

When we arrived to St. John, we drove through Cruz Bay and towards a road that leads to beaches after beaches. Our first stop was Hawksnest Beach. I decided not to stay there because signs along the beach read that it was not safe to swim. I, however, saw plenty of people peacefully swimming in the clear blue waters with no care in the world. Our next stop was Trunk Bay Beach. Trunk Bay by far is one of my favorite beaches. With its powdery white sand, crystal clear waters, and views of surrounding islands in the distance, Trunk Bay is a must visit beach if you are on the island of St. John.

Our time on the island was short. We grabbed food from De’ Coal Pot and headed back to the port. I enjoyed a plate of steamed conch, rice and beans, potato salad, and mac and cheese. It wasn’t what I expected, but it was still very delicious. We waited nearly two hours to board the barge to head back to St. Thomas. Once on the barge, I sat back and listened to soca music from local artists like Pumpa. I love his song She Got the Juice!

The Virgin Islands is exactly what I needed to experience. I’m looking forward to going back in the near future.

Safe travels, Junkies xoxo
