RECESSION PROOF ROMANCE

recession proof romance

Many still have not recovered from the recession, and now it is affecting your relationship. The expensive dinners at Bull and Bear are unrealistic. Your taste buds scream caviar! But all you can afford are a dozen eggs from your local grocer. Your partner isn’t generating the income they use to. Now you find yourself at home on Friday nights eating leftovers. The romantic nights on the town seem to have become a thing of the past. Don’t let this recession damage your finances and relationship. Below are a few affordable ways for you to bring the dating and romance back into your life.

MOVIE DAY INSTEAD OF MOVIE NIGHT
Catch a matinee. Not only are theaters less crowded during the earlier showings, you can spend less money and more time kissing and privately fondling each other in the dark, quiet theater. Avoid the concession stand. Pack your favorite snacks in a travel bag. Don’t forget to pack a kiss for your adoring mate.

JUST DESSERT
Enjoy a wholesome meal at home and go fancy for dessert. Choose a nice restaurant that serves up the most sumptuous sweets. You can choose to share one dessert between you and your date or get two desserts. No matter what you decide, sharing is caring. You’ll have extra energy from those sugary sweets that can be employed during a romantic escapade in the bedroom later on.

RETAIL FASHION SHOW
Go to a retailer and try clothes on for your lover. Let him or her give you the thumbs up or thumbs down to your choice of fashion. Allow him or her to imagine what it would be like seeing those clothes on your living room floor. You may be use to going on shopping sprees, but you must come to terms with the fact that purchasing one article of clothing is suffice. Enjoy the quality time with your mate and look forward to a hot and sexy night where the x-rated fashion show begins.

WINE WITHOUT DINE
With wine bars sprouting up all around New York City, it is fare to go out and simply have a glass of wine over good conversation. Set your mind on a budget and agree to have one drink. The whole idea is enjoying the experience without emptying your pockets. If one drink isn’t enough, an affordable bottle of wine can be purchased at your local liquor store for consumption at home. Finish off the night with a toast to an increase in romance.

PICNIC IN CENTRAL PARK
All that’s needed is a blanket and a basket filled with a fabulous lunch. Spend time with your mate under the warm sun. There has always been great romance tied to an intimate picnic. Add passion by packing the right foods for lunch. Asparagus, strawberries, bananas, chocolate, figs, oysters, and champagne are believed to be aphrodisiacs. Romance never tastes so good.

BRONX ZOO
What’s sexier than wild animals? Take a walk around the zoo and explore the area that houses the Panthera genus; lions, tigers, leopards, etc. Watch these felines, stretch, and move gallantly. Admire the way they handle their cubs. Listen to the way they communicate with each other. Go home and emulate the actions you have studied with your mate in the bedroom. The Bronx Zoo is usually free on Wednesdays. Take advantage of the free entrance and the sensual, animalistic experience.

A ROMANTIC HIKE IN THE BOTANICAL GARDEN
New York Cities’ Botanical Gardens have great hiking paths that are ideal for romantic strolls with your lover. Stop and breath in fresh air, listen to the sounds of chirping birds or chipmunks in the spring nestling around the fallen leaves. The Botanical Gardens are a great way to escape the roughness of the city without actually leaving the City. Enjoy a calm walk with an open discussion about how much you love and enjoy just being with each other.

AFTER WORK LOUNGE
Most after work lounges in New York City have no entry fee. In addition, Happy hour is usually from 5pm-8pm. Drink and food prices are often cut in 1/2 between these hours. Anyone would be happy with that. Good music, great conversations and sometimes dancing. Wine down after work at one of New York’s hottest night spots. The dark intimate settings are great for romance or just getting down right dirty with your mate.
