I spent Sunday afternoon in the East Village with my good friend Gia. We bowled at Bowlmore Lanes and did some shopping at Whole Foods, Forever 21, and Diesel. It was a rainy day, but through the years of living in New York City, I’ve learn that rainy days are often the best days for a stroll. The street seemed as busy as a sunny day, but we maneuvered through the hectic crowd in search of bargains, steals, and deals. Gia is such a networker. She finds a connection for everything. She isn’t afraid to ask for what she wants, and she isn’t afraid to hear the word “No!” her fearlessness is a good characteristic to have in this “survival of the fit” Metropolis.
After a few strikes at Bowlmore, we grabbed coffee and headed back to the Bronx Borough. We hit the highway in somewhat heavy traffic. It’s always good to spend time with a great friend. Those are the moments that brighten even the rainiest day.
