What's Hot in N.Y.C.

SHE GOT MARRIED AT MY MOON

I attended a beautiful wedding reception for my dear friend Arianna. I remember the day she stopped by my desk and told me she met a hot guy at the Jersey Shore. This was before MTV came out with their popular reality series. Years later, she was walking down the aisle and saying “I do” to her fist pumping hottie.

Besides the beautiful bride, I didn’t know anyone at the event. I found myself convincing a stunningly gorgeous school teacher named Nicole to shop drugstore cosmetics. She told me how obsessed she is with Sephora. I told her that I totally love brands like Urban Decay.  Since I love variety, there is no way I can pay almost $30.00 for lipstick (Urban Decay costs about $22.00, which is quite affordable). If you are someone who loves that one shade of red, go for the higher priced brands. Because I love matching my make-up to my wardrobe, it makes sense to get affordably priced brands that are just as good in quality. I still treat myself to the pricier brands.

The wedding  reception was held at My Moon Restaurant in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. The venue is non-traditional, which is very Arianna. The food at the reception was delicious. I could never completely cut meat out of my diet, but I try to go meatless when I can. I had an eggplant dish with zucchini, tomatoes, olives and goat cheese – just divine. I felt filled and completely satisfied. I had a wonderful time at my friend’s wedding. I met a lot of amazing people at the reception who are warm and made me feel welcomed.  Showing support for my friend, sharing make-up tips with complete strangers, and trying new foods at cool NYC places – Just another day’s work I guess.
