BAR 13

After a light meal and drink at a Thai restaurant in the City, I headed over to Bar 13 for a few cocktails on their rooftop. I’ve been to Bar 13 a few times and I always enjoy myself there. I normally go for their Wednesday night reggae parties which I recently heard moved to Sundays. The place would be packed to capacity on Wednesday nights. But on this hot Monday night in the City, the scene was very different. No reggae and no crowd; just a few girlfriends sitting together talking about their career and love lives. There was also a guy seated alone in the corner across from me reading a book.

They played a mixture of music, mostly top 40 tunes during the time I was there. I had two long Island Ice Teas and sat alone in a corner lounge thinking about my life and all the changes I need to make. I quietly sat back and enjoyed the scene. There’s nothing like being on a rooftop during summer in NYC.
