I was a single mom for about 11 years before meeting my husband. I always took my daughter, Rain, on vacations where it’s been just the two of us. I did my best with what I had and I tried to give her a fulfilling life far from what most underprivileged children from low-income Bronx neighborhoods experience.
Rain is 16 now, but she’ll always be my baby and she is my Little Miss Metropolitan Junkie. We still go on annual girl trips. She has a passport with stamps in it, and I’m proud that I’ve been able to introduce her to worlds outside of the Bronx. I want nothing more than to build a legacy for the little girl who was by my side through some of the most difficult periods in my life.
My daughter is the driving force behind my hustle and she is the inspiration for my new children’s resort wear collection, Little Miss MJ. Little Miss MJ is inspired by my daughter and all the trips we took together throughout the years.
