Costa Rica is a country situated between Nicaragua and Panama in Central America. The country’s tourism industry exploded in the past decade with many of their visitors coming from the United States. Costa Rica is known to be a relatively peaceful place where many yoga and natural healing enthusiasts seek refuge. Unfortunately, Costa Rica has seen a significant increase in violent crimes towards tourists in the past year. An article featured in the New York Post in January, 2019 headlines “Tourist Killings Jeopardize Costa Rica’s Reputation for Safe Travel.” In this video, I’m going to discuss some of these killings along with fatal accidents involving foreigners.
